Privacy stays on your iPhone.
Effective September 13, 2026 · NightRelight 1.0.0 build 11
Summary
NightRelight does not require or offer an account, and does not send us your photos, usage activity, diagnostics, or identifiers. Photo processing happens on your device. We do not operate a NightRelight cloud-processing server, analytics service, advertising network, or user database.
Photos and photo access
You can select photos with Apple’s system photo picker without granting NightRelight broad library access. If you choose the optional dark-photo scan, NightRelight requests photo-library access, respects limited access, and evaluates up to 400 photos at a time from the month you select. Face detection and lighting assessment run locally. The scan does not upload images or scan results. If an original exists only in iCloud, Apple Photos may need a network connection to retrieve it. If you save a result, iOS asks for permission to add it to Photos.
On-device processing and storage
The relighting model is included in the app and runs with Apple Core ML on your iPhone. Rescued photos, their originals, adjustment values, and processing diagnostics are stored only inside NightRelight’s local app container. Diagnostics contain processing stages, elapsed time, image dimensions, and memory readings; they do not contain photo pixels, filenames, or account details. In Edit history, selected items move to Recently Deleted, where you can recover or permanently delete them. This does not delete copies in Apple Photos. Removing the app deletes its local container according to iOS behavior.
No account and earlier sign-in data
NightRelight 1.0.0 build 11 contains no registration or login flow and does not request your Apple sign-in identifier, name, or email. Earlier builds optionally stored an Apple identifier and any supplied name or email in this iPhone’s Keychain. Build 11 removes that exact legacy NightRelight record on launch without reading its contents. If removal fails, Settings shows a retry action. Photo history is preserved. This local cleanup does not revoke a previous authorization at Apple or delete your Apple Account; a previous authorization can be managed in iPhone Settings > your Apple Account > Sign in with Apple.
Payments, advertising, and tracking
NightRelight is free. It contains no subscription, in-app purchase, ad network, cross-app tracking, or third-party analytics SDK. We do not sell or share personal data.
Children
NightRelight does not knowingly collect personal information from children or anyone else. The same on-device design applies to every user.
Changes
If NightRelight’s data practices change, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosure will be updated before the relevant app version is distributed.
